I am an archaeologist.  My research has focussed on prehistoric public spaces in the Middle East, but I have become interested in how modern communities can take inspiration from the way people used public space in the past in order to create engaging and useful public places. I have travelled all over the world, but now live in Toronto.  This creates tension between my local and international experiences and I hope to be able to explore these comparisons.

Hello Alexis, I came across your posts on Day of Archaeology, in my search for archaeologists who are moms. I am a mom to two young children, working on my anthropology undergrad degree. I hope to concentrate on archaeology, though it seems so challenging with children. I have yet to meet another student or professional in archaeology who has a family. If you feel like corresponding via email, please let me know. I would love to communicate with another mom in this field!
